Program Overview
Gear Up Now's Young Adult Program helps adults ages 18-20 build confidence, personal responsibility, practical skills, and readiness for greater independence and future employment.
Grounded in biblical principles, the program combines mentorship, goal setting, and individualized support, with particular attention to young adults from underserved and under-resourced communities.

- Résumé Preparation
Guidance with identifying next steps, preparing to study, finding driving-school resources, scheduling appointments, and coordinating available support. Driving instruction is provided by appropriately qualified providers, not represented as a service delivered by Gear Up Now.
Help creating or improving a résumé, identifying transferable skills, and presenting education, work, volunteer, and other relevant experience for job applications.
Applicants may request either service or both. Assistance is subject to staff review and available resources. Registration does not guarantee funding, a driver’s license, a passing test result, or employment.
Required Faith-Based Participation
Gear Up Now's Young Adult Program is a Christian program. Biblical Life Foundations—including Bible reading, guided discussion, reflection, and prayer—is a required and integrated part of the program. These activities support character development, responsible decision-making, service, and personal growth alongside the practical services participants select.
Applicants must understand and agree to participate in these activities. Participation does not require a declaration of a particular religious belief.
Eligibility
- Adults ages 18-20.
- Applicants seeking Driver’s License Support, Résumé Preparation, or both.
- Willingness to participate in the program's required faith-based activities.
- Applications reviewed by staff before enrollment is approved.
How to Apply
- Complete the adult registration and select the support requested.
- Provide available dates and times.
- Review the program disclosures and submit the required acknowledgments.
- Staff reviews the application and follows up about next steps.
Submitted availability is not a confirmed appointment. Applications remain pending staff review before any enrollment or assistance decision.
