Faith & Values
Yes. Biblical Life Foundations, based on the teachings and example of Jesus Christ, is a required and inseparable part of the Gear Up Now program. Bible verses, prayer, reflection, and biblical character lessons are incorporated into the program and cannot be removed or replaced with a non-faith-based curriculum.
Gear Up Now is intentionally designed as a Christian youth-development program. Participation in the program is voluntary, but its biblical foundation is not an optional or separate component. Families should understand that the teachings of Jesus Christ, Bible reading, prayer, and Christian character development are integrated throughout the program before registering their child.
Yes. Gear Up Now is a Christian youth-development program. Bible verses, biblical principles, prayer, and faith-based discussions are incorporated into program activities in an age-appropriate and supportive manner.
Lessons will focus on age-appropriate principles such as love, kindness, honesty, courage, forgiveness, responsibility, perseverance, service, respect for others, and treating others as they would like to be treated.
Eligibility & Cost
Yes. The Gear Up Now program is provided at no cost to eligible participants. There is no participation fee for children accepted into the program.
Eligible participants are children ages 6–12 who reside in a community where the Gear Up Now program has been approved. Participation is subject to program availability, the 10-participant enrollment limit, and completion of all required registration forms, permission forms, and waivers.
Registration
Use the online registration form. Families complete child details, parent/guardian information, emergency contact information, medical information, and required waivers.
Yes. Enrollment is intentionally limited to 10 participants for personalized attention.
After submission, the registration is received and reviewed by the Gear Up Now team. Families are contacted with next steps.

Program Experience
Activities may include movies, sports, outdoor games, arts and crafts, music, dance, group activities, life-skills lessons, mentorship, educational field experiences, Bible reading, prayer, and Christian character development. Activities are scheduled on demand and will vary based on program availability, participant interest, community approval, transportation, weather, and available resources.
Gear Up Now does not operate on a fixed weekly schedule. Sessions and activities are offered on demand based on participant interest, program availability, community needs, and educational opportunities. Families will receive information in advance when activities are scheduled.
Activities occur throughout the Austin area at educational community destinations.
Parents & Safety
Yes. Signed permission forms and required waivers must be completed before participation.
Parents or guardians provide child information, contact information, mailing address, relationship to the child, emergency-contact information, medical details, and required waivers and signature.
Emergency-contact and medical details are collected through registration so staff have key information available when supporting participants during program activities.
